Time flies

Time flies pretty quickly doesn’t it?  I mean it seems that I’ve just started grade 10 and now it’s ending.  Every year it happens too quickly.  But I just wish humans have the ability to slow time down.  So we can grasp every moment.  Of course humans don’t have the ability of slowing time, yet… hehehe.

I’ve brought this up because as I walked home with my brother and my friend, we came to notice that the year is ending already. ugghhh! T^T I guess having so much fun with friends and of course teachers, lol. Made the clock tick faster.

The most scary part of time is running out of it.  For me, I love to be in highschool with friends all day long.  However it doesn’t work like that. Graduating from highschool is what I’m terrified of, some friends will depart on their own to eventually seek their future.  And you won’t be having great times like you had in highschool, but of course there are pros on graduating.  It just terrifies me though. :(

Questions:
Would you like to have the ability to slow time? why?
What do you think makes time fly?
What is the most terrifying matter about time?

I thought about time a lot today, and about stopping it. I think it's probably impossible, I mean: If you stopped time, how long would it be stopped for?

It wouldn't be possible. Slowing it down though, well, stop having fun! Time will grind to a halt!

I know exactly what you mean. It feels like yesterday that I started as a first year college student and now by June i'll be an incoming senior! Le sigh. I'm graduating next schoolyear for crying out loud! I feel old. Haha.

Would you like to have the ability to slow time? why? Yeah just to cherish the moment even more.
What do you think makes time fly? When you're having so much fun with what's going on in the present.
What is the most terrifying matter about time? Sometimes you have no control as to what's gonna happen.
  • yes, time flies and we can't do anything about it. we all hope we could control it though so that we can savor each moment. :)
  • I used to feel the same way when I was in school... it was the year just flew by. Actually, it's the same way still. I can't believe 2009 is almost half over already.

Would you like to have the ability to slow time? why? I don't think so, I think it would be kind of scary if you could do that!
What do you think makes time fly? I guess just being busy and not having enough time to do all the things you want to do.
What is the most terrifying matter about time? The fact that it will go on forever.
  • Ugh. I hate that feeling. I`m starting my senior year in less than a month and I`m a bit scared. I really don`t want to leave high school yet. ): I hate the feeling of being old. XD Seriously, though. I used to think that when you`re in college, you`re old. One more year for me ! Argh. D:

Would you like to have the ability to slow time? why?
-- Yes, `cuz I really want to cherish the good times and all.
What do you think makes time fly?
-- Hmm. I`ve no idea, honestly. XD
What is the most terrifying matter about time?
-- You don`t know what`s gonna happen or when it`ll all end. ):
  • That's true time flies to fast..

Would you like to have the ability to slow time? why?
it depends.. sometimes yes, sometimes, no..

I would love to slow time down. Why? Just to embrace life and take in, second by second.
Even by just doing your regular routines in life, makes time go by quick, especially when your hanging out with your friends, realizing that one day, it could all be over soon.
Sometimes when I think about when im graduating, I keep on wondering where im going to end up and where my friends are going to do with there lives and if im ever going to see them again.

The passing of time sure makes me depressed! But i couldn't be more glad to get another year of highschool done.I'm really looking forward to "life after lame old highschool".

Would you like to have the ability to slow time? why?
You know,it'd be nice slowing down those really good days;the ones where you don't want the sun to set because if it does, the day is coming to an end.But on the other hand, speeding things up a bit would be much better. Not a very patient person..

What do you think makes time fly?
    Hm,friends & family....and guys boxing.LOL Don't ask.

What is the most terrifying matter about time?
That fact that if you do something you truly regret, you can't go back and undo it.You just have to live with it.Well...until the end of time that is.
  • Yes it does, especially if you are on the spot where you are having a great day. For me, high school life is something that you will remember for the rest of your life. The memories in my high school seems to be memorable than college because all your first times happened in your high school life.
waoh~ I sounds like an old lady though I am not in twenties. XD

I wanted not to slowdown time but to return the time when my brother was still alive. I really love my brother so much. He just passed away last July 11 and I'm still mourning about it.

..btw, I've got a new domain.

hope you'll check it out. :D
  • argh yeah it's really fast~ whoa! your grade 10 th-th-that's long huhuhu well, fun to go to school because of friends and the allowance haha! ^^ .BTW thanks for waiting ^^
  • If people were to have the ability to slow down time, there should also be an ability to extend time...
Whenever my boyfriend has to go back home in Germany for uni (I live in Holland), I wish I could freeze time, in fact. Never really thought of slowing time down. Slowing down such an awkward moment would make both of us feel even worse about it.
Having a good time makes time fly. And when you're approaching an awkward moment, time will go sloooooowly... bah.
Might as well just accept what comes our way and try to see the positive aspects of things that don't seem very nice. :)
  • yes!! time flies too fast and i dont know whether to be happy or not. i hate it when time flies fast when Im having fun, but i hate it when I'm in pain.
    1. sometimes. when im having too much fun. :)
    2. um..God? :)
    3. it's inevitable. :(

I'd say the most horrifying part of coming close to the end of this year is losing all the beautiful senior girls to graduation. You know how our grade is not so lucky on that note...

Would you like to have the ability to slow time? why?
Wouldn't mind this, but I'm more interested in having the ability to turn back time. Especially after a few unwanted events.

What do you think makes time fly?
I'm not sure how to answer this. LOL.

What is the most terrifying matter about time?
You never know when your time will be up. Best answer I can come up with this late at night.
  • Yeah, graduating can be intimidating. You still have two years more! This is so profound though. I find a lot of people from grade 9-11 who want to get out of high school so quickly, and here you are, wishing time doesn't fly as fast as it does. Opinions like these are usually from the grade 12s, lol. Even I want high school to end already so I can start anew in UBC. But then again, that's because I haven't found friends here.

Would you like to have the ability to slow time? why?
Not really. I'm fine with how time is now. It'd be nice to prolong the favorable memories; however, the memories being short makes me want to go back for more, and I wouldn't miss them so much if they were longer.

What do you think makes time fly?
XD Is this question like scientific or philosophical? LOL. Either way, I don't have a specific answer.

What is the most terrifying matter about time?
I um don't have an answer to this question either. I'm not very opinionated.

I think time dilation is pretty cool though. I wonder when we'll be able to stop time-- better yet, turn time back. I guess the day when someone figures out how to move the same speed as the speed of light.
  • Thanks so much for the lovely comment, you're not opinionated. But let me tell you something you're very optimistic. :D
