Extravagant city life

Filed in Rant on July 23, 2010

Once in awhile going downtown is always such a great stress reliever.  The people who are walking places to places are like ants that are too busy to talk to other ants, they are just doing their job to please their Queen.  Traffic noises fill the busy air, honk here and there.  Tall buildings block the precious scenes behind them, they’re like giants who give shelter, stars to the sky, and a very clever structure for creeps to stalk citizens down below.  These ornaments that makes downtown presentable to the eye of the people is why I love downtown.  And for sure when  I get older, I won’t be stuck here in such a dull and bland area. I’d die to live in an urban area, where a lot of exciting events happens.

Nevertheless, don’t get fooled by one’s one sided viewpoint of the city life.  One thing that bothers me about downtown is the abundance of homeless people.  They’re not just one on a sidewalk but plenty.  What pesters me is when they ask for a couple of change, because I totally ignore them and walk on by.  Like they didn’t even exist there.  And during the egocentric act, my remorse bar rises to the high point.  I’d totally give my extra change, if I knew exactly what they’ll use it for.  If by any chance they were going to use that money for something that will fill their stomach, then I’d spare some change.  However, if they utilize those change that I just spared to drug use, then no.  They have to get it straight, that when we gave money to them it means that we want them to live.  Not to waste it on some intoxicating substance that won’t make them live longer.
